We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automation Engineer with strong proficiency in PLC programming to join our team in Essen, Germany. This role is critical for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems across various industrial projects. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge technologies, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of complex machinery and processes. English language proficiency is a must for effective international collaboration and documentation.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, develop, and program PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems from concept to commissioning.
• Configure and integrate HMI (Human Machine Interface) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, functional descriptions, and test plans.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users and maintenance personnel.
• Participate in site commissioning activities and resolve on-site technical issues.
• Adhere to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, Rockwell Studio 5000, etc.).
• Strong understanding of industrial automation principles and control systems.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA development and configuration.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) for international project communication.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
• Knowledge of functional safety standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 62061).
• Experience in a specific industry sector (e.g., automotive, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage).
• Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Basic German language skills are a plus but not required.
