Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Engineer to join our Process Plant team in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing existing chemical processes, designing new process units, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, process control, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic production environment.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes and equipment for manufacturing various specialty chemicals and ingredients.
• Conduct process simulations, material, and energy balances, and economic evaluations for process improvements and new projects.
• Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other engineering documents.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, quality control, and maintenance.
• Participate in HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and other process safety management activities.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for new process installations.
• Monitor process performance using statistical tools and implement data-driven improvements.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within a chemical manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Strong understanding of unit operations, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex process problems and implement solutions.
• Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (English and ideally German/French).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
• Experience in a multi-national company environment.
• Proficiency in French or German.
