We are seeking an experienced and visionary Hybrid Carbon Capture Technology Lead to spearhead our initiatives in advanced carbon capture solutions. This pivotal role involves leading the research, development, and implementation of hybrid carbon capture technologies, integrating various methods to achieve superior efficiency and scalability. The successful candidate will drive innovation, manage cross-functional teams, and contribute significantly to Siemens Energy’s commitment to climate action and decarbonization. This is a hybrid role based in our Neukölln office in Berlin, offering a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of novel hybrid carbon capture technologies.
• Manage a team of engineers and scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and techno-economic analyses of various capture pathways.
• Oversee pilot projects and scale-up efforts for developed technologies.
• Collaborate with internal R&D, engineering, and business development teams to integrate solutions into broader energy systems.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements, regulatory landscapes, and market trends in carbon capture and climate technology.
• Secure and manage intellectual property related to new technologies.
• Represent Siemens Energy at conferences, industry forums, and with key stakeholders.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• PhD or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in carbon capture technology development, research, or implementation.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least two distinct carbon capture methods (e.g., solvent-based, sorbent-based, membrane, cryogenic, bio-energy with CCS).
• Proven leadership experience in managing technical projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, mass transfer, and process engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, Pro/II).

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with advanced materials for CO2 capture.
• Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis (TEA) methodologies.
• Track record of patents, publications, or successful technology commercialization.
• Experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
• German language proficiency.
