We are seeking a passionate and skilled Hybrid Digital Rights Advocate to join our dynamic Tech Policy team in Göttingen. In this role, you will play a crucial part in advocating for user rights, privacy, and freedom of expression in the digital realm. You will monitor evolving digital rights landscapes, analyze policy proposals, and develop strategies to ensure our products and services align with global human rights standards. This hybrid position requires a blend of remote and on-site collaboration, offering flexibility while fostering team connection.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Monitor global digital rights developments, legislative proposals, and regulatory trends relevant to Google's products and services.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis on complex digital rights issues, including privacy, data protection, freedom of expression, and content moderation.
• Develop and advocate for Google's positions on digital rights with internal stakeholders, policymakers, civil society organizations, and academic institutions.
• Draft policy briefs, position papers, and internal guidance documents on digital rights implications.
• Collaborate with legal, product, engineering, and communications teams to integrate digital rights principles into product design and company operations.
• Represent Google at industry conferences, workshops, and multi-stakeholder forums on digital rights and tech policy.
• Support the development and implementation of training programs on digital rights for internal teams.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven experience in digital rights advocacy, public policy, or a related field focusing on technology and human rights.
• Strong understanding of international human rights law and digital rights principles.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and industry partners.
• Fluency in English and German, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and evolving environment.

• Advanced degree in Law, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
• Experience working at a technology company, international organization, or civil society group focused on digital rights.
• Familiarity with EU and German data protection laws and digital services regulations.
• Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
