Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Toolmaker / Machinist to join our precision engineering team in Dübendorf. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, modification, and repair of precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, and machine components. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a deep understanding of machining processes, and the ability to work with tight tolerances to produce high-quality parts that meet stringent specifications. You will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing operations and R&D projects.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Fabricate, assemble, and repair complex precision tooling, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures.
• Operate a variety of machine tools including CNC milling machines, lathes, grinding machines, and EDM equipment.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations and sequences.
• Perform precision measurements using a wide range of inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, CMMs).
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling and machinery, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design for manufacturability and performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements and new techniques.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven experience as a Toolmaker or Precision Machinist.
• Strong proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (milling, turning, grinding, EDM).
• Expertise in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Exceptional precision measurement skills and familiarity with various metrology equipment.
• Solid understanding of material properties (steels, aluminum, plastics, composites) and their machinability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to quality, accuracy, and adherence to tight deadlines.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Apprenticeship or vocational training in toolmaking, machining, or a related field.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam, NX).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in the automotive, aerospace, medical device, or similar high-precision industries.
• Fluency in German is a plus.
